Pam-Pam-Pam

About the book / O książce:

Story about magical adventures of one little girl, Maia, who lives in Oxford with her French-Polish family and her white toy rabbit, Pam-Pam.

Historia magicznych przygód małej dziewczynki, Mai, mieszkającej we francusko-polskiej rodzinie w Oxfordzie i jej białego pluszowego królika, Pam-pama.

Excerpt / Fragment:

‘Please tell Maia where somewhere is?’

‘Somewhere?’ The lady was clearly taken by surprise. ‘Sweetie, I’m not sure if I can help you. I am a geography professor, but I do not know the answer to you question. It beats me…’

The girl didn’t wait for the next words of the lady professor and ran swiftly ahead, followed by her friend. We can safely assume that she was scared of the consequences of the lady getting a beating. How could she know that the lady used a metaphor, which means being asked a really tough question and not knowing the answer?
